Collection of CD players for use in classroom (2011)

Attention:  P4, P5 & P6 Form Teachers

Dear colleagues,
  • I have just completed re-labelling all cd-players for 2011 and they are ready for collection.
  • Do send your trustee ICT leaders to the Control Room (Level 3, above rear of school hall) to collect the CD player for your class.
  • After collection, do reply this email with your class and name (eg. 5F, Joanne Tay) indicating that you have collected your CD player
  • Click <here> to check the update of status 1 day (24 hours) after collection. I check my email everyday.

P3 and P1 Teachers

My deepest apologies, as many CD players have become unserviceable (beyond economical repair) I will be purchasing brand new ones for you, with Mr Chong's approval.

General Appeal

Colleagues who are currently holding on to CD players which have not been labelled for 2011 do let me know so that I can come to you to label the CD players.

So far, because of their special needs, Wushu, Chinese Dance and Choir have taken an un-labelled set each .  I am aware of this and will be going to Scarlett, Agnes and Cindy to label those CD players.

Sorry for the long wait.

Thank you.

Dear colleagues,
2 weeks have passed for 2011 and hopefully all of you are settling into your teaching after the Dec break. I like to highlight some of the ICT matters.

1) Fault Reporting in School Portal
During the Dec holidays 2010, Alex and Hemly have been checking and ensuring that all the ICT equipments are in working conditions.
Despite the checks, however, the past 2 weeks have thrown up alot of faulty ICT equipments, especially in the classrooms.
We like to thank you for your kind patience and hope that you will continue to inform us of any ICT faults via the Poi Ching School Network Portal at http://www.poichingsch.com/ or directly at http://www.poichingsch.com/portal/.
Login into the portal via your NRIC and password (Please approach Alex if you cannot login). Go to Teacher's Network, Fault Reporting. This will generate emails to Alex, Hemly and myself. They will follow up on your reports asap.
This process will not only document your report but also allow us to monitor our equipments.

2) ICT Loan Request, AV Setup Request & Room Booker
Within the Portal, since 2010 we have incorporated the above mentioned 3 forms for your use. The respective request forms (ICT Loan and AV Setup) are meant for you to inform the ICT department on your requirements for support. This should be done early (not 1 day or on the actual day) as this will allow us to assess if we are able to support your request in terms of equipment and/or manpower. Upon receipt of your request, we will reply to your request asap.

The Room Booker is meant to be a transparent tool for all to use such that booking of rooms in Poi Ching School will become convenient and hassle-free. Please do not send mass emails out to inform regarding use of hall and take that as a booking of the room. The Room Booker function also allow us to monitor our resource utilisation as a school.

3) EZShare Portal http://archsi.net/ezshare/
As emailed earlier, please make use of this portal to access resources (from other teachers from other zones) for your use in teaching and learning. Also, please do your part in the spirit of sharing by uploading your resources into the portal. Resources like worksheets, powerpoints, lesson plans etc can be shared. We will be monitoring the uploads and access by teachers on a termly basis. We like all teachers to upload 1xresource (any) per teacher per year

4) Learning Management System (LMS): MC Online
As you already know, the school will be subscribing to MC Online this year. We have already liaised with the vendor and are in the midst of discussing training for all teachers. You will be informed later on the training dates.
Also, we will be monitoring the teacher's utilisation of the LMS and require all teachers to upload/create/assign resources for pupils use at 2 resources/assignment per teacher per term . This will be implemented after the LMS training and you will be reminded again.

I will inform you of further ICT matters subsequently. In the meantime, should you require any ICT help, please go our TA- Hemly  (hardware and technical issuesonly) or ICT Executive - Alex (software, teaching and learning applications etc). You can also approach Jeanette or myself for any inputs or feedbacks you may have.

Thank You.

AVA SOP for Daily Assemblies/Dismissal

Dear colleagues,

With the hope to reduce noise pollution that affect our beloved neighbourhood during the early morning hours, Mr Chong had made the decision to use the portable system for morning assemblies.  The portable set is kept at the 2nd VP room.  If it is not a rainy day, Mr Ahmad will set it up daily at the parade square before 7am.
